Manic Expression Presents Podcast Plays: Vows and High Class Academy

Long overdue, I know, but about a month ago, I wrote a play for Manic Expression for a new segment called Podcast Plays. The first play you're about to listen is called "Vows" by James Daniel Walsh, the founder of Manic Expression. The story is about a 60-year-old Vietnam veteran named Ted Parks looking for his son Daniel to bring home. In this story, expect a lot of tragedy, deceit, forgiveness, and revelations. I'm in this play voicing the only female character in the play, a Vietnamese prostitute named Keri. This is the only time you will ever hear me say "I'll suck your cock. Just $50."

This play is for mature audiences only. Be warned.

In the intermission is a review that James and I do talking about the absurdity of today's plays and musicals.

Next is my play "High Class Academy". It's about a late 20's mechanic named Miles Burnett looking for a change in his life after working in a mundane routine every day. He decides to sign into an etiquette course in a place called High Class Academy. It's a comedy that lightens up the dark moody atmosphere that "Vows" did. I play the 3 female characters of the play: Tina Defoe, the female mechanic who works in the same garage as Miles who loves her job, oil, dirt, and grease. Miss Wentworth, one of the teachers of High Class Academy who teaches etiquette skills and who despites oil, dirt, and GREASE!!! Last, but not least, is the secretary Marge. I hope you enjoy these wonderful plays.

Hope to see you around Old School Lane soon.

-Patricia
